Chief Shawn Yerian was appointed January 20, 2021, and is a 20-year fire service veteran. Before entering the fire service, he was a financial analyst with the J.M. Smucker Company.
Chief Yerian has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Anna Maria College, is a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program from the National Fire Academy, and earned a bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Akron and an associate degree in Fire Science from Stark State College. He is also a certified Fire Officer IV, Firefighter II, Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, and Paramedic.
