Become a Firefighter or EMT

We offer two opportunities to explore the exciting world of firefighting and the training to do it safely. If you already have your Firefighter and EMT certifications in another station or another state, we’ll help you with the logistics of obtaining reciprocity and getting certified in Ohio.

Paid-Per-Call

Volunteer Firefighter/EMS

Assist the Canal Fulton Fire Department in fire/rescue efforts and providing emergency medical services as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Residency of Canal Fulton or adjacent community
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 18 years or older
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license with full driving privileges
  • Drug screening and physical exam
  • Completion of required training within one year

Part-Time

Firefighter/EMS

The Canal Fulton Fire Department is staffed daily by part-time Firefighter/EMTs. Download our job description for details on what’s expected of you.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 18 years or older
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license with full driving privileges
  • Able to pass drug screening and physical exam
  • BCI or FBI Background cleared within the last six months
  • Current Physical Agility Test Passed Results
  • Firefighter 1 and EMT Certification
